Michael Davidson, Managing Director
Michael Davidson founded Brookvex in 1986. The organisation grew out of the exponential growth in the services provided by Mick, originally in the cabling arena, and then expanding into electrical, telecommunication, security and more recently eco solutions.
Mick has a great ability to see future trends developing and steering the organisation to capitalise on growth areas and revolutionary technologies. With a strong ethical base Mick ensures that the organisation consistently maintains an honest, open and hard working approach. Citing relationships with people be they customers, staff or suppliers as one of the most enjoyable parts of the job Mick creates a flurry of enthusiasm and innovation where ever he goes.
As a motor bike racing championship winner in his youth Mick has transferred the energy, focus and determination required to compete into his running of Brookvex, thus providing an exciting but committed organisation to be a part of.
Mick believes that key to a successful customer and business relationship is about doing more listening than talking and always delivering or exceeding expectations where ever possible.
Laurence Unwin, Strategy and Development Director
Laurence has been Strategy and Development Director since 2008. He oversees Brookvex's strategic business development including bringing in new prospects; expanding and building on existing products and services; and developing the skills and capabilities of the organisation to reach its potential. Laurence's long term vision is to build a secure future for all of Brookvex's stakeholders past and present.His strategic expertise is also called upon in the work that he does with Brookvex's clients including Enterprise, TFL and Cubic.Laurence is a passionate advocate of Brookvex's culture of excellence and says that he could not work for a company that he did not believe in. His favourite part of the role is working with people.
Geoff Ayshford, Engineering Director
Brookvex's Engineering Director, Geoff Ayshford, joined the company in 2003. Geoff's chief priority is ensuring that Brookvex delivers a competitive, professional and high quality service at all times to its customers. Geoff is a stickler for high standards and is always looking for ways to improve the business. His favourite part of the job is exceeding customers' expectations. He has an ONC in communications, electronics principles and City & Guilds / NVQ in electrical installation.
Jon Arrowsmith, Commercial Director
Jon has been Commercial Director for Brookvex since 2008. He is responsible for indentifying and pursuing new opportunities for business development as well as driving the company's long and short term revenue growth strategies. His work also encompasses assisting Brookvex's clients and he is passionate that clients receive the best possible service. Jon oversees all elements of the company's commercial activities and ensures that the company acts in a responsible manner at all times. When Jon does have a break from the office, he enjoys bikes and late 60's music. And his chief dislike is neck ties, so don't expect to see him in a tie outside of the office.
Tanya Estrella, Marketing Director
Having worked as a contractor in 2005 Tanya officially joined Brookvex as Marketing Director to all parts of the Group at the start of 2010. An enthusiastic and commercially focused individual Tanya has been tasked with the re-launch of the organisation into four primary parts to enable a more focused and targeted route to market enabling Brookvex to better serve the Brookvex Group customer.
As a committed, loyal individual Tanya's ambition is to be an integral part in the success of Brookvex which she sees as a company that is equally dynamic and ambitious. With a proven track record in adding significant value both in terms of building the underlying foundations of a company, its future strategy and increasing company revenues, via the identification and exploitation of both existing and new market spaces Tanya hopes to further expand Brookvex's footprint in the market place.
As a black belt 2nd Dan in Taekwondo and having won both UK and European championships in her youth Tanya revels in the challenge of getting Brookvex the recognition and industry position it has worked hard to deserve. Citing variety of her role, interaction with different people and delivering innovative marketing solutions as the most enjoyable parts of the job.
Darren Selman, Head of Compliance
Darren joined Brookvex in 2009. He plays an essential role in the organisation in ensuring that a framework is in place to deliver a consistently high standard. Darren is responsible for the watertight systems and processes which protect staff and the environment, while staying compliant with Health and Safety and Environment Law, and to produce a finished produce or service for a client which meets (or exceeds) customers' expectations. He describes himself as pragmatic and dogmatic. No stone is left unturned on Darren's patch. Darren has an armful of qualifications which assist him in his day to day role.
Ian Hancock, Head of Electrical Division
Ian joined Brookvex in 2002 and is responsible for all electrical installation works undertaken by the company. He was instrumental in setting up the electrical division of the company. As a qualified electrical manager, Ian ensures that Brookvex complies and exceeds industry quality standards. He works with Brookvex's clients including Middlesex University, Symantec and LUL. He takes particular satisfaction in seeing projects all the way through, from start to completion. Ian enjoys working in a company where he can extend himself and can strive for work excellence.
Tim Poole, Head of Security & Life Safety Division
Tim has been a member of Brookvex's management team since 2006. His role encompasses surveying, design, liaison and management.He works with many of Brookvex's clients including the Old Royal Naval College Greenwich, the Royal Academy of Art and St Georges University of London. His favourite part of his role is customer liaison and his top priority is ensuring customer satisfaction at all times. When he is not working he prefers to be in sunnier climes enjoying red wine and rock music.
Tom Smith, Head of Telecommunications & Networking Division
Tom joined Brookvex in 2005 as a Senior Project Manager and now heads up the telecommunications and networking division. Tom is responsible for managing projects for a range of clients at Brookvex including Great Western, London Underground, Tubelines and Thales. Tom strives for the highest customer service experience to be delivered at all times and inspires his teams to go that extra mile. He describes himself as 'stubborn' about work that needs to be done and does not rest on his laurels until something is done to his satisfaction.
Neil Peck, Head of Information Technology
Neil has over 20 years corporate IT experience and has been Head of Information Technology at Brookvex since 2007. He oversees the company's internal and external IT requirements as well as providing clients, including Metronet (LU), with his expert advice. Neil is a dedicated professional who prides himself on his no-jargon communication skills. His love of technology also means that he is always ahead of the game. When he is not chained to his computer, he enjoys kayaking and bee keeping.
Susan Damer, HR Manager
Susan is the HR Manager for Brookvex and has been in her role since 2008. She leads the HR service across the organisation. She is an advocate of job satisfaction for all and thanks to Susan's work Brookvex runs like a well-oiled machine. The best piece of advice that she would give to anyone is to make sure that you are a 'trusted and safe pair of hands' in a business.
Alec James Boyle, Northern Territory Manager
Alec joined Brookvex in 2006. His role as Northern Territory Manager encompasses business development and ensuring Brookvex's name and reputation is widespread in the North. He assists a number of Brookvex's clients including Scarborough Borough Council, SOCA, Serco, Shepherd Engineering Services, Hayvern Electrical and the Standards Board for England. His top priority is ensuring that his customers are informed and happy. Providing service excellence by always delivering (and delivering punctually) are Alex's watchwords.
Heather Lumley, Financial Controller
Heather Lumley is Brookvex's Financial Controller, Company Secretary and PA to the managing director. She joined Brookvex in 2000.
Heather juggles her roles expertly and her attention to detail and workaholic nature ensure that the accounting is in pristine order and the office is run like clockwork.
